Which Tools Should I Use to Measure the Performance of My Site

Posted on 2025-04-22 Updated on 2025-07-09

As an overall view, the following tools should be used in evaluating your site’s performance:

  • Google PageSpeed Insights

PageSpeed Insights is one of the tools developed by Google to analyze how a particular page performs on both mobile as well as desktop and offers suggestions on how the page could be optimized. The newly-updated Core Web Vitals assessment is great since they give an overall score of how your website is performing.

  • GT Metrix

The detailed report of GTMetrix reveals the website's performance, including page load time and page size. It also has a tab called ‘Waterfall’ which shows the time taken for each request on a site and directs you to which specific requests are slow.

  • WebPageTest

WebPageTest is an open-sourced tool that gives more flexibility and several customization options for testing compared to the other commonly used tools. It gives more specific and precise data about the webpage activity especially in terms of loading time and resource usage.

  • Pingdom

Pingdom is easy to use and gives you a quick overview of your site’s speed and performance. It provides details such as load time, performance grade, page size, and number of requests.

As such, while these tools assist you in determining your website’s status, Website Speedy even provides a solution to such problems. Our tool works behind the scenes to optimize your site in real-time and ensure it is always performing efficiently - no manual tweaking needed.
